Ara: CM Nitish Kumar on Monday said the
BJP could not name its chief ministerial candidate because it was suffering from leadership crisis. “PM
Narendra Modi campaigned in the Lok Sabha election. Now, he is canvassing for the assembly polls and could do so in panchayat elections, too,” he said.
Nitish appealed to the people to maintain peace and harmony in the society at any cost for the development of Bihar and also to defeat the communal forces.
Addressing an election meeting at Ara, Nitish said the BJP was contesting assembly election under the leadership of Narendra Modi as if he might become the chief minister of Bihar. He said had the Constitution provided for it, Modi would not have left the post of Gujarat CM. Nitish said the high-profile BJP leaders and minister were so afraid of the grand alliance’s popularity that they had made Patna the second capital of India.
He said the BJP is struggling to keep the party united. Its own MP from Ara, R K Singh, revealed that the party had allotted tickets to the persons having criminal background. The party, which claims to champion the Indian culture and civilization, failed to honour its senior leaders like L K Advani and M M Joshi, who had been relegated to the background, Nitish said.
Nitish said Narendra Modi had promised during the Lok Sabha polls to bring back black money stashed in foreign banks, give jobs to two crore youths every year, fix minimum support price for paddy by adding 50% of the profit. But nothing happened. The PM, in fact, insulted Bihar by auctioning the package of Rs 1.25 lakh crore even as Rs 1.08 lakh crore had already been sanctioned by the previous government.
Nitish said if his DNA was not good, why the BJP made him CM twice. “I am not arrogant but believe in self-respect,” said the CM and added he ruled for 10 years with a vision of development with justice and as result the girls and boys had the same proportion in schools.
